Returning to In-Person Worship

Your health and safety is our utmost importance. Here is what to know before you go.

As you prepare to attend in-person worship, please know that the leadership of Citrus has made updates based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), requirements from Orange County Public Schools for all groups that use space, the Florida Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, and appropriate governmental agencies.

Pre-Registration for Citrus Church’s in-person worship service at Summerlake Elementary School is available below, and will open each Wednesday at 9am.

Citrus Church will continue to offer live worship online at 10:30am each Sunday.

Top Things You Should Know

Pre-Registration Needed Each Week

We are allowed a maximum of fifty (50) persons. Your pre-registration ensures your spot.  When you register we will ask for your address, phone, and email address. This additional information is required to be collected should OCPS need to do contact tracing.

Please arrive early to help ease the stress of everyone arriving at the same time. We will hold seats for 5 minutes after the service starts. Then, will open to any wait-list or stand-by attendees.

Face Masks are Required

Face masks are required for all (ages 2 and up) and must be worn correctly (covering the nose and mouth) at all times. We will have disposable masks on hand in adult and child sizes.

Temperature Screenings

Temperature screenings using contactless digital thermometers are required for entry. Per the standards of Orange County Public Schools, anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or greater is asked to stay home. Anyone experiencing or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 please stay home. You are invited to join in our online live-stream.

Can We Sing in Worship?

Due to the abundance of research on singing as a “super-spreading behavior” we will be asking you to not sing in worship. We invite you to worship through music by paying close attention to the words of the songs in a worshipful way, and you may whisper or hum under your mask, but we ask that you please do not sing.

Will Children's Ministry be available?

At this time we are inviting families with children to worship together. We will provide age-appropriate activities for children to engage with during worship. We encourage you to bring a picnic blanket to allow your children additional space.

Bring Your Own Chair

We invite you to bring a folding chair for each person in your party. Don’t worry, we will also have sanitized folding chairs on hand too.

Contactless Connection with the Church Center App

Download the Church Center App to connect, prayer, give, and more.

Additional Information

Enhanced Cleaning

Sanitizing procedures are enhanced before, during, and after worship using professional grade products.

Physical Distancing

Physical distancing protocols of six feet separation from individuals who are not part of your family/living unit

Children’s Ministry

We will provide individual age-appropriate supplies for children to be engaged through worship.

COVID-19 Warning

Anyone experiencing or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 please stay home. You are invited to join in our online live-stream.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, our church, and our community. You must follow all instructions given to us by Orange County Public Schools.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By visiting Summerlake Elementary School and in-person worship at Citrus Church you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

You can help keep each other healthy.

Can I fully participate?

As a United Methodist Church we don’t close anything off to anyone. We practice “open table” communion (Lord’s Supper), meaning that all are welcome to come and receive the bread and juice whether a part of Citrus or not. Communion is served approximately once per month. We also celebrate baptism for children and adults. Follow this link to learn more about what we believe as a United Methodist Church.

At Citrus Church we believe strongly in welcoming all people. We are a safe place for people who are LGBTQ+, meaning we welcome you as you are. You’ll find that our goal is to help all people experience the refreshing invitation to Jesus.

All spaces are ADA accessible. We are more than happy to provide you with assistance.
