Get to Know Your Bible – Part 2

This is part one of a three-part email series to help parents introduce their kids to their new Bible. You can find the rest of the series here;

Dear Parents,

This week I invite you and your child to memorize Psalm 119:105, on page 697.

“Your word is a lamp before my feet and a light for my journey.”

Memorizing scripture is a powerful way for children to be guided by God’s word in all they do. Psalm 119:105 reminds us that scripture is a guide on the journey of life.

How You Can Help:

  • Practice Together: Take a few moments each day to recite the verse with your child, perhaps during the drive to school or right before bed.
  • Reflect on Its Meaning: Talk with your child about what it means to have God’s Word guide us in life. You might share a time when you felt God’s guidance in a personal way.
  • Celebrate: At the end of the week, once they’ve memorized the verse, treat them to an ice cream cone! Use the time together to talk about how God guided them this week.

Bible Tip: Your child’s new Bible has in-text notes (like the compass on today’s pages) to help them learn as they read.

Journeying with You,
Pastor Brian
